Biography

Dr. Ugwoke Nkechi Calister is born to the family of late Mr. Anselm Ugwoke of Amogbo, Ibagwa-Ani, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State. She is married to Mr. Onyema Peter Onyishi and have lovely kids together. Dr. Ugwoke Nkechi Calister has a penchant for academics and that has been her inspiration to her unwavering commitment to extensive studies in Mass Communication. After her National Youth Youth Service in Ogun State in 2008, Dr. Ugwoke Nkech Calister was employed with The Market Magazine located in Abuja in 2009, where she practiced as a journalist for three years. While she worked as a journalist, her penchant for teaching led her to pursue her postgraduate studies. First, she obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education PGDE from University of Abuja, followed by a Masters Degree in Mass Communication and lastly a Doctor of Philosophy Degree PhD all in Mass Communication. During her postgraduate studies in the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State. she was endeared to her lecturers for hard work, resilience , intelligence and research prowess. She has published in referred journals and she has her research interest in film Analysis, Critical Discourse Analysis of Media, and Cultural Studies. She is currently an academic at the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies of Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Research Interests

Film Analysis, Print Media, Political Communication and Cultural Studies.
