Biography
I am Oluwafemi Fayomi, a Nigerian academic in the Department of Political Science, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), where I am involved in teaching, research, and academic service within the Faculty of Social Sciences. I obtained my Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) degrees in Political Science from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, University of Maiduguri. I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria.
My academic training reflects a multidisciplinary orientation that combines political analysis with journalism and communication studies. My research interests include political economy, political communication, and international relations, with a particular focus on governance, state behaviour, and socio-political development in Nigeria and other developing contexts. I have contributed to peer-reviewed academic publications and continue to engage in scholarly debates on political processes, governance, and security issues.
I am a member of the Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA) and the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN). My academic work is driven by a commitment to empirical research, policy relevance, and critical engagement with political systems. Beyond teaching and research, I participate in academic service and contribute to intellectual discussions on governance, public policy, and development studies within and outside the University environment.
Research Interests
My research interests lie in political economy, political communication, and international relations, with a strong focus on governance, public policy, state behaviour, security dynamics, and socio-political development in Nigeria and other developing societies.
