Mr. TESLIM AYOWALE SALAHUDEEN

Biography

Teslim Ayowale SALAHUDEEN is a certified theatre artist, educator, and university administrator. He currently serves as a Graduate Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, where he is also completing his Master of Arts degree.

His teaching covers media studies, theatre management, and applied theatre. He actively links traditional performance arts with modern technological tools to improve instructional quality and prepare students for the professional industry.

His research uses Theatre for Development to advance public health communication. He organizes direct community interventions to correct cultural misconceptions about conditions such as Sickle Cell Disease, Cholera, Malaria and so on.

Beyond the classroom, Salahudeen holds several administrative roles. He is the Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor on Student Affairs and the university coordinator for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund. He is an alumnus of Raising New Voices Nigeria and serves as the Assistant General Secretary of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti Alumni Association National Body. He dedicates his career to academic instruction, student mentorship, and civic engagement.

Research Interests

Teslim Ayowale SALAHUDEEN investigates the intersections of applied theatre, public health communication, and media arts pedagogy. The primary focus of his work involves Theatre for Development as a practical methodology for community education and grassroots intervention. He studies how performative frameworks can correct medical misconceptions, improve health literacy, and address specific public health challenges such as Sickle Cell Disease, Cholera, Malaria, HIV/Aids, within local populations.

Additionally, his research examines media arts pedagogy and the application of educational technology in higher learning. He explores how integrating digital tools and multimedia platforms into creative arts curricula can improve broadcasting instruction and better equip students for the contemporary media industry. His secondary research interests encompass theatre management, specifically analyzing the administrative, logistical, and operational structures required to maintain sustainable theatrical productions and effective institutional leadership within the performing arts.
