Biography

Mrs. Folashade Deborah Akinyemi is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Development, Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics from Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.

Her teaching and research interests are in the fields of Public Finance and Public Policy, with a particular focus on fiscal policy, public sector economics, government expenditure, taxation, public resource management, and evidence-based policy formulation for sustainable socio-economic development. She is committed to advancing knowledge through high-quality research and inspiring students to develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills in economics.

Mrs. Akinyemi is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), through which she actively engages with the economics profession by participating in scholarly discussions, conferences, and other professional development activities. She is passionate about promoting sound economic policies that contribute to inclusive growth, poverty reduction, and improved public sector governance.

As an emerging academic, Mrs. Akinyemi is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and community service while contributing to the advancement of economic scholarship and national development through innovative research and collaborative academic engagement.

Mrs. Folashade Deborah Akinyemi's research interests lie at the intersection of Public Finance, Public Policy, and Development Economics, with a strong commitment to generating evidence that informs effective policymaking and sustainable economic development. Her research focuses on fiscal policy, public expenditure management, taxation, public budgeting, and government resource allocation, particularly in developing economies. She is interested in understanding how fiscal institutions and public sector governance influence economic growth, poverty reduction, income inequality, employment generation, and social welfare.
She is also passionate about evaluating the effectiveness of public policies in addressing pressing socioeconomic challenges, including unemployment, human capital development, social protection, and infrastructure financing.
