Biography
Awoniyi Oladele John is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Nigeria. I hold a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and an M.Sc. in Microbiology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Microbiology at Ahmadu Bello University.
My research interests include Environmental Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, and Microbial Bioremediation, with a focus on the biodegradation of azo dyes using alkaliphilic bacteria. I have teaching, laboratory, and research experience, with scientific publication and conference presentations to my credit. I am a member of the Nigerian Society for Microbiologists (NSM) and am committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
Research Interests
My research is focused on advancing Environmental Microbiology through the application of microbial biotechnology for the bioremediation of environmental pollutants, wastewater treatment, and the development of sustainable solutions to environmental challenges. I am particularly interested in exploring the metabolic and molecular potentials of microorganisms for environmental restoration and ecosystem sustainability.
