Biography

Dr. Jackson Iheukwumere Osuh is a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. He holds both an MPhil and a PhD in the specialized and emerging field of Physiological and Experimental Psychology from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria. This academic background places Dr Osuh among the few scholars in Africa who focus on the physiological underpinnings of behaviour through experimental methods.
Dr. Osuh’s research interests are diverse and span both human and animal models to explore various facets of behaviour. His work delves into Sensation & Perception, Cognition, Motivation & Emotion, Developmental Processes, Ingestive and Aggressive Behaviors, Sexual and Parental Behaviors, Learning and Memory, and Neural Substrates of Behaviour.
As part of his cutting-edge research, Dr. Osuh applies animal models, especially rodents, in experiments that help reveal the neurobiological and physiological bases of behaviour. This includes exploring how various drugs affect behaviour and investigating the impact of environmental toxicants on neurodevelopment and cognition.
In addition to his research, Dr. Osuh is an expert in psychology laboratory methodologies and is proficient in the use of advanced psychological tools and technologies.
Dr. Osuh’s work continues to contribute significantly to understanding behaviour from a physiological and experimental perspective. Dr. Osuh has authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals both locally and internationally.
