Dr Ogundare has published several peer-reviewed articles and contributed to the development of an AI tutoring system designed to identify and address misconceptions in secondary-school Biology. Her work demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive, research-informed and technology-enhanced education.
Research Interests
My research interests are mainly in science education, teacher education, curriculum studies and educational technology. I am particularly interested in how teachers can use effective teaching approaches and new technologies to improve student engagement, understanding and academic achievement.
A key area of my work focuses on the use of artificial intelligence and digital tools in education. I am interested in how AI-supported learning systems, digital learning environments and extended-reality technologies can be used meaningfully in schools and universities. I also explore teachers' confidence, knowledge and readiness to use technology effectively in their teaching.
Another important area of my research is students' misconceptions in Biology and other science subjects. I am interested in identifying why these misconceptions occur and developing practical ways to address them. My work has considered approaches such as AI tutoring systems, concept mapping, practical activities and other learner-centred teaching strategies.
I am also interested in curriculum implementation, science teachers’ classroom practices, teacher preparation, assessment, teacher workload, gender and professional competence, and the influence of social media on learning.
Overall, my research aims to support better teaching, stronger teacher preparation and improved learning outcomes through inclusive, evidence-informed and technology-enhanced practice.
