Biography
Akan, Kevin Akpanke (Ph.D.) is a lecturer in the department of Criminology and Security Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. He is a young, dynamic, and a burgeoning academic. He is a graduate of Sociology holding a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State. He obtained a Masters of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Sociology (Criminology and Security Studies) from the famous University of Mkar Mkar-Gboko Benue State. He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Sociology (Criminology and Sociology of Law) from the distinguish Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He has bagged professional certifications in Education, Cybercime Management, Security and Forensic Studies. He is a fellow of the institute of Security and Forensic Studies, Nigeria, and Fellow of the Institute of Criminological Studies and Security Management (ICSSM)
His research interests are: Research Methods, Intelligence and Investigation, Law Enforcement Administration, Penology/Rehabilitation, Environmental Crimes, Victimology, Cybercime, Sociology of Law, Youth Crime, Deviant Behaviour, and Social Problems. He is also interested in Private Security Management and general Crime Consultancy Services. He has attended several seminars and workshops, published his knowledge, expertise and experience widely in local and international journals, contributed in book chapters, and published numerous textbooks in Criminology and Security Studies.
