Biography
Professor Wilfred Nwabueze Igboama is a distinguished academic and a committed servant of God. He is a Professor of Solid Earth Physics at the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Industrial Physics, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Solid Earth Physics. He is a respected member of the Nigerian Institute of Physics.
Professor Igboama began his academic career at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State, where he rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer before joining the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti. Over the years, he has made significant contributions to research in Exploration Geophysics, Hydrology, and Near-Surface Geophysics, with particular emphasis on groundwater exploration, contamination studies, and environmental investigations. His current research efforts are focused on sustainable groundwater development and quality assurance for the benefit of society.
He is an active member of the Geophysics Research Unit in the Department of Physics and has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students. A prolific scholar, Professor Igboama has published over 30 articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for several academic journals.
